29th Aug The season is now drawing to a close but
there are still a number of teams in with a chance of winning
their respective teams so lets get along to support them where we
can.
The Stealth have a couple of catch up games and are away for their final two regular game so we wish them well, they are currently 3rd on the table but have games to make up, lets go Chris and the stealth. The Thistle are on top of the table and can't be beaten so well done again this year to Kenny and the team show them how it is done in your last game against Te Teko next week. The Raiders are currently 2nd and have 3 catch up games and two regular games left all of which are tough so if you get the chance to help them along during training ( they have Catch up games scheduled during the week) and tough games at home against Opotiki and Whakatane. The Sharks and the Shamrocks are 3rd and 5th respectively so get along to support them and help them to at least retain their position if not advance higher up the tables. Now on to the business side. Well done to all those players that have made their respective representative sides but a special mention goes out to Liam Fonville-gordon, Leo Griffiths & Joseph Hall who made the Central EBOP Football squad for the Weir Rose bowl tournament and who recently beat the Western Bop side 3-2 after coming back from a 0-2 half time deficit. The committee has also set down the date for the end of year prize giving, It will be held on Tuesday the 21st September at the school hall from 5pm. There will be a sausage sizzle to keep the kids going ($1 cost) and drinks as a small fund raiser fro the club. Prize giving officially to start at 5:30 as we have to be out of the hall by 7pm. Final act will be a lollie scramble. Again like last year we will be keeping it as short as possible, there will be no pre-registration for next year required and photos should be available for order. Finally for those of you who want to support the ALL WHITES they have confirmed their two home match's for the year. They are playing against HONDURAS on the 9th Oct 2010 at Albany stadium and against PARAGUAY on the 12th Oct 2010 at the CAKE TIN in Wellington. I know that I have got tickets but if you are keen to go sales for Ticketek nz members will open on 6th Sept 2010 at 9am and end on 7th Sept 2010 at 5pm unless sold out prior. Them the remainder of the tickets will be on sale from 8th Sept 2010 from 9am. Good luck but if it was me I would sign up to Ticketek NZ now, it doesn't cost anything and you'll have more chance of getting a seat to the two best shows nz football may see for a long time to come. 1 last thing, as a committee member I think that you should know that Kathy will be resigning at the end of the year as will 2 or 3 other members of the committee. No big deal you might say but if we do not have at least 3 sitting members including a President , a Club captain and a Secretary, then we are not legally allowed to run an incorporated Football club. Therefore please for the good of all the 120 odd kids that love to play the game each weekend, put your name forward to help out. We have 1 meeting a month and let me tell you it is rewarding to know that you make a difference for all those involved Thats it from me see you at the prize giving and go OHOPE. Well the World cup is now over and life
goes on at the Ohope soccer club. there are some great results
coming through so keep an eye on what our teams are up to.
I would just like to say thanks to all those parents, managers and coaches who are sending in information to be added to the website for their teams, I know my sons team uses the site a lot to let family who live out of town know what is going on. The only thing I will say is that we could do with some more photos so get snapping and send them in via email to me. Also a special thanks needs to go out to our team sponsors who have kindly paid for training shirts for the kids & coaches. So a special thanks to: - Interior Doors Ltd Glenns Glass and Aluminium Ltd KG Kayaks Sparkle and Shine Horizon Energy Ohope Beach Realty Bella Design BayRoofing Ltd TreeWise Ohope Chartered Club Hands builders Ltd Oceans Sports Marine Thanks again and see you soon. 4th July Well done to the Allwhites for making it
as far as they did. I know they made me proud along with a heap
of other people. we are however continuing to see a number of
great games in the world cup and are down to the last 4 now. Keep
watching and learning the quality of the football is second to none and
you could learn a lot.
Update 22 JuneKeep and eye on the history page to see where your team is at, I am getting weekly updates sent through and will keep them rolling to help you out. The next committee meeting is at the refurbished Chartered club on Tuesday at 6:30 pm for those who want to come along and see what we get up to or perhaps join in. Well done to all those players from the club who have made the rep teams either for the first time or for another year . You all make the club proud and keep up the great work and try hard, it could be the start of a long career in the game, don't rule it out. All I have to say really is Go the Allwhites. two 1-1 draws so far and a real possibility to get through to the second round. Who would have thought!!! Oh there was one other thing. I
have just put the official tables on the history page that show the up
to date result for the season. as and when I get copies of them I
will endeavour to updtate them to see where your team is up to.
Go and check it out there are some great results for the club so far.
Update 6th June Well what an eventful start to the
season, some great results, the cancellation of the Mcmecking and of
course the weather. To those of you that have been affected by
the floods our thoughts are with you and we hope that your
inconvenience and loss is minimized. I will keep it short so here
goes: -
McMecking Due to lack of support from all sectors this tournament has been cancelled. Update 21st April 2010 Busy times at the club as many of you will have been aware. All teams will be finalised over the next few days and of course bayday is coming up this weekend so get the kit out and ready if you have not already done so. A big thanks goes out to all of the helpers who marked out the pitchs and put the posts in. It was a bigger task that what we had anticipated but we can now say that the pitches are regulation size and believe it or not we have actually gained enought room to fit in the tennis courts and and extra pitch or to for good luck. That it for now and good luck. Keep the information rolling in so that I can update your teams website and let family and friends know what you are doing from the other side of the world. Thanks again for using the website and see you soon. Email the webmaster Thanks again to you all, Simon Mitchell. 24/05/2009 |
